Election post

Having been highly involved in TeamUCL for two years, I'm very familiar with its operations. I served as Badminton Club's Treasurer & Women's Captain this year; under my leadership, we won the Women's Premier and LUSL mixed league and qualified for the European Universities Championships for the first time ever, increased social membership by >20%, expanded to UCL East, increased weekly socials from 2x to 5x a week, introduced social coaching, and organised new events and collaborations. I bring experience and fresh ideas to the table, and am keen to work together to make things even better!
First, as my club's greatest struggle this year has been booking courts, I hope to look into how we can provide better support for clubs regarding facilities. Second, I hope to increase communication between the clubs and staff, ensuring our athletes know the kinds of support available. Third, I hope to increase cohesiveness, creating an atmosphere similar to Varsity (where we see ourselves not as individual teams but one TeamUCL) that starts during and continues throughout the BUCS season. We should bring the captains together, or replicate the Varsity promotional initiatives, earlier on!
I've proven myself as a competent and communicative leader who isn't afraid to go the extra mile for her players. I love my club, but I'm also super invested in our collective success as one TeamUCL — I'm ready to listen to and advocate for you. Specifically, I believe improving access to close facilities will facilitate (haha) team spirit and mutual support amongst our clubs — that's an area in which we lag behind the campus unis that have sports centres.
I play badminton after all — let me be the racket that serves you. For better support, better facilities, and better cohesion, vote for me!
