What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I know what it’s like to juggle education with life’s many responsibilities, and I’m passionate about supporting others in the same boat. As a current MA student in Special and Inclusive Education and working with disadvantaged students in secondary school for over 2 years, I’ve worked closely with diverse student communities, helping them feel seen and supported. Having studied in both China and the UK, I understand the unique challenges that mature, part-time, and caregiving students face. I want to ensure every voice is heard and help make UCL a more inclusive, welcoming space for all.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If elected as the Mature, Part-Time & Carers Students Officer, I’ll ensure these students feel supported, included, and represented at UCL. My priorities: Better Support Services – I’ll push for academic flexibility, financial aid awareness, and tailored mental health resources. Stronger Community – I’ll create networking events, peer mentoring, and forums for connection. Greater Recognition – I’ll advocate for visibility and policy changes. My goal is to make UCL a truly inclusive space where we can all thrive.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

As a single mom, full-time worker, and postgraduate student, I know firsthand how tough it is to juggle studies, work, and family. I’ve lived the stress of deadlines, financial worries, and the struggle to find support—but I also know the strength and resilience that come with it. That’s why I’m passionate about representing mature, part-time, and student carers. I’ll fight for fairer policies, flexible learning, and better support because no one should have to choose between education and personal responsibilities. If elected, I’ll ensure UCL truly supports and empowers students like us!
