Badminton Club (RUMS): Social Badminton Lead

Hi guys, I’m Aadi! I joined the society in the middle of term 2, so I haven’t been able to meet everyone. Here’s a short introduction: I started playing badminton after the pandemic with some friends back home. It started off as a way to be active outdoors but it became my favourite sport quickly. More than the sport itself, it was a feeling of community that made badminton something I looked forward to every week. That is simply what I plan to ensure RUMS Badminton remains for everyone- a space to build a community.

As the social badminton lead, I will ensure that badminton schedules are well-planned and provide adequate opportunities for members to play badminton. Apart from organising and coordinating the socials, I promise to be efficient with formulating the schedule.

Organising and planning is something I have experience in, from being part of the Students’ Council at my high school. We had to coordinate various events for all the students. Alongside these characteristics, I also became increasingly punctual and responsive to changes- both of which are important for this role.

To sum up, I promise to be efficient and provide well-planned and coordinated social schedules.
