Maryam Binti Mohd Azmi

The Women's Engineering Society has provided a sense of home to me this academic year; being able to connect with the committee and the members through the events inspired me to apply for this position. I have seen WES play a significant role in creating a supportive environment for women in engineering, and I am eager to contribute to these efforts by ensuring effective financial management. With a minor in Finance, I believe in my ability to handle the financial responsibilities of the treasurer role. To me, I see transparency within WES especially in terms of finance as one of the most important aspects as a treasurer and I aim to work closely with the committee as a whole to execute financial strategies that align with WES's goals. To sum up, I am excited about the prospect of contributing my passion to the Women's Engineering Society. I trust that as Treasurer, I can make meaningful contributions to WES's financial well-being and would endeavour to help promote its objective of establishing a strong, inspiring and supportive engineering community for all women.

Alix Dupont

Having lived abroad my entire life has presented me with a profound understanding of different perspectives and an insight into how individuals from different backgrounds can be treated differently. I have witnessed female degradation first-hand aspiring me to become president of Amnesty International in my high school to defend the rights and dignity of Women among others. In an exponentiating technologically developing world, the acceptance, support, and inclusivity of all are vital. Worldwide there remain many unfortunate women who are stripped of their freedom to contribute their genius to the engineering world due to cultural, economic, or other uncontrollable environments/circumstances.

With a passion for learning and an outgoing demeanor, I believe I would be an asset to this society, as I understand and comply with its fundamental mission. Moreover, with a strong technical background in mathematics honed by the leadership of many societies in year 13, I have developed a strength in financial management, budgeting, and problem-solving.

If appointed as Treasurer, I am dedicated to ensuring transparency, accuracy, and accountability in financial matters, while also seeking opportunities to optimize the society's resources and financial sustainability. I am eager to collaborate with fellow members and the executive team to support the Women's Engineering Society in achieving its goals and empowering women in engineering fields.

Hey everyone! I'm thrilled to introduce myself as a candidate for the position of UCLWES Treasurer. I'm Kelly, I am a passionate first-year chemical engineering student who is deeply convinced that women can bring positive change to the engineering field.

Having served as a First Year Representative in Engineering Society, it has allowed me to understand the dynamics of our society and has inspired me to contribute more actively. I have worked with their treasurer for the past months, therefore, I already know what is expected from a treasurer and I am well aware of the work that needs to be done.

Having been a member of UCLWES for the past few months, I really enjoyed being part of such a vibrant, ambitious, and empowering society and I believe I have what it takes to occupy the position of treasurer.

In addition to my dedication to UCLWES, my experiences in budget management and leadership roles have equipped me with the skills needed for the treasurer position. I believe that fostering financial stability is crucial for the society's growth, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to this aspect.

I am genuinely enthusiastic about the prospect of serving as your treasurer. With my passion for engineering, and a solid foundation in financial responsibilities, I am confident in my ability to meaningfully contribute to the success of UCLWES. Let's work together to make our engineering experience even better!
