Being a part of this supportive community and witnessing the inspiration our events provide for women influenced me to nominate myself as President of WinF.

As Head of Marketing, I’ve demonstrated my dedication through successfully increasing engagement on our Instagram page to over 1000+ interactions and achieving a consistent monthly interaction rate on LinkedIn. Additionally, I was able to attract more than 100 people to join our conference this year.

To carry on this committee’s legacy, my vision is to:

  • Create an application track list programme with the aim of helping our members find internships.
  • Expand our sponsorship programmes and collabs, such as by engaging with different societies within GUILD.
  • Host more workshops focused on interview & application tips.
  • Organize inter-university events to reach women from various backgrounds outside of our society.
  • Collaborate with Students’ Union Women’s Officer to raise gender gap awareness.
  • Diversify our impact by focusing on different themes in finance such as sustainability, AI and entrepreneurship.
  • Recommend podcasts and articles that offer industry insights.

My ambition is to grow this community whilst being committed to our core values: Educate, Equip, Empower. I am confident in my ability to thrive as the President of WinF. I hope to serve you wholeheartedly, empowering you to pursue your passions.

I wish all other nominees the best of luck! #girlpower!!!!!

Ilana Maarek

I am standing for the position of President at the UCL Women in Finance society because I am passionate about empowering women in finance. The Women in Finance society is about bringing like-minded people together to start a discussion, create a supportive network, empower and educate and create occasional networking opportunities and this is exactly what I want to bring to the society.

My background in management science at UCL, combined with my internships, has given me a unique perspective and skills that I am eager to bring to the committee.  I want to help organize events that educate and inspire confidence in our peers to pursue their finance careers fearlessly..

And I’m looking to build a network of like-minded women who both want and are able to mentor a greater number of amazing women into the world of finance, so that it feels less like a men’s club. I want to be part of, and contribute to, a supportive female community. I want to use my skill and hone it for the benefit of a society on a mission.

Ishanvi Arora

My involvement as a first-year representative, welfare officer and mentor in the women in finance society over the last 2 years has deepened my interest and passion to contribute to this society. I plan to make changes in the committee's current work. I hope to use our foundation and enhance it to ensure the Women In Finance Society is the place for any girl looking for a career in finance. I also aim to increase the socials we host to ensure that all members get adequate chances to network and meet like-minded individuals.

In an already male-dominated industry, it is important to empower each other and this society is a start in the right direction.

Here's why you should vote for me:

1. Elevating Our Society: I'll enhance our foundation to make our society the top choice for finance careers.

2. Empowering Your Success: I'll provide resources and support to help you thrive in finance.

3. Expanding Networking: More social events mean more chances to connect with others in the field.

4. Your Voice Matters: I'll advocate for ensuring our society meets your needs.

Together, let's make our investment society the best it can be.

I appreciate your support.
