Hi Silverbacks, I’m Jen!
Some of you may know me as your Community Outreach Officer, having coordinated volunteering activities for the club this year with Sam. I really enjoyed working with the committee and hope to lead next year as your President. Here are some of my goals and ambitions for the upcoming year:
Firstly, I’d like to work closer with the Student Union to better support our club. From my conversations with the current committee, I’ve sought to better understand the challenges we’ve had with the SU this year 🥲. I’m committed to representing the club’s interests at all levels and ensuring that we have the resources needed to deliver good sessions.
Taking a more inwards-looking angle, I hope to lead the committee and team with high levels of drive both on and off the field. I will work with the other committee members to deliver high-quality trainings, social events and volunteering opportunities to the best we can.
Lastly, I hope to deepen outreach efforts to bring new people into our sport. As someone who hadn’t played frisbee prior to university, I strongly believe in the development of new players as a cornerstone of our club. Building on the work of this year’s comm, I hope to continue the developmental pathways from Social and Training & Development sessions towards competitive play.
TL;DR? I’m Jen and I hope to be your next Ultimate Frisbee Club President. Through the challenges ahead, I hope that you’ll be on this journey with me. 🥰
