Having sat as Events Officer in the committee this year, it’s been great to see a community form so fast and with everyone having such a passion for transport. Some kids wanted to fly a rocket or be a pro footballer, but we just wanted to drive buses and trains and we’ve shown that that can be even more exciting! We have such a rich transport network all around us and we have only scratched the surface of exploring it together!

As president I’d be able to bring not only a lifetime’s worth of tube-geekery, but also a year’s worth of industry experience to the table after having finished my placement with Siemens Mobility, and setting up a solid network of contacts throughout the transport world. Opportunities this year such as our Tube Challenge and speaker events from industry leaders have been a brilliant taste of what I’d strive to build upon in my tenure as leader.

Much like TfL’s modes of transport themselves, there’s a lot of harmony to be witnessed from working together. We must remind ourselves that the society is only a year old and has already established a brilliant environment that we should all be proud of – it’s a result of its members! I’ll make it my mission to continue that great ethos and atmosphere fostered this year, and take it all one step further, ensuring that we can all have the best time here.

Let’s progress at a faster pace than the plans for the Bakerloo line extension, and march on together chanting our favourite mantra; See it. Say it. Sorted.
