Peter Zhang

Hi everyone! I am Peter Zhang, and I am standing for Technology Society President, stemming from my passion for technology and commitment to fostering a supportive and vibrant tech community at UCL. In my role as Director of Mentorships at UCL TechSoc, I led the successful inaugural mentorship program, demonstrating my ability to initiate and lead impactful projects. This program significantly enhanced the learning and networking opportunities for our members, illustrating my organisational skills and dedication to improving the society.

Additionally, my active involvement in organising and participating in society events showcases my leadership qualities and my enthusiasm for bringing the tech community together. These experiences have equipped me with the skills and vision necessary to lead the society effectively.

My plans for TechSoc for the 2024/25 academic year include:

1. Increased connectedness and dialogue with industry, by leveraging my professional connections (from firms such as Jane Street, Goldman Sachs, and Microsoft) and those of the committee members
2. A massive-scale flagship hackathon featuring collaborations with numerous London institutions
3. Expansion of the mentorship program to accommodate everyone who wishes to join
4. Utilise the UCL & TechSoc alumni network to help members achieve their career goals
