Hayden Cooper

Having joined the club at the start of the year, I have played a very active role in the RAX community since September and have enjoyed myself so much! I would love to take an active part of the club's growth in the next academic year and I see our social media presence as key to doing so.

As an outgoing member of the club, I think I would do a great job at creating engaging content that will reach new members of the club as well as bolstering our already strong community. Our social media style would be humorous (with memes to rival even Leeds, who were infamous in the lead up to BUCS) whilst also informative.

Having encouraged other students to join the club myself, I know some who aren't already big runners worry that their abilities won't fit well with the club, so I will work with our community outreach officer to go further to emphasise how accessible we are to all runners.

Members across the club deserve to have their running achievements recognised and shared, whether it be their performances at the various competitions we participate in throughout the year, or simply through their participation in our social runs. I would like to ensure that our Instagram page goes even further to do so.

Charli Chidiac

As an urban planning and Real Estate student I have extensive experience using  Photoshop and Illustrator, equipping me with the creative skills necessary to design compelling and visually appealing content for social media platforms. My frequent use of these tools allos me to comfortably create engaging, high-quality images and graphics that can enhance RAX’s visibility and engagement. Furthermore, as a daily user of Instagram, I have a thorough understanding of effective marketing strategies and trends on social media which would allow me to craft content that I know would appeal to an audience of this generation and drive interaction.

Elizabeth Lewis

As a passionate advocate for the running and an avid user of various social media platforms, I am confident in my ability to contribute positivity and effectively to the Running society at UCL.

Before coming to UCL I completed an Art Foundation course at the University for the Creative Arts (UCA). I chose to specialise in graphic design, and my final project was based around creating a social media campaign that promoted road safety. Through this I was able to gain valuable insight into creating social media content, and also practiced  thinking deeply and critically about my target audience and how to reach a large audience.

Though being a member of UCL RAX I have made many new friends and it’s fuelled my love of running (so much so that I’m currently training for a half marathon!)  A goal of mine is to utilise social media as a way of helping individuals feel welcome within the running world and the society. In addition, using it to make information about upcoming events and important announcements, clear, aesthetically pleasing, and easy to access across a range of platforms. Running truly is a sport for all and something that I believe has not only physical, but mental benefits. Here at UCL running has a growing supportive community, which I aim to help flourish further through social media.
