As a Mexican who has lived his whole life in Mexico, I suddenly find myself an ocean away. I often get caught in deep nostalgia for the food and culture of my country, and have since dedicated a lot of time to finding places and people that remind me of home in London.
As president of the Mexican Society, I intend to create a community where I can share this piece of our culture with everyone at UCL. There will be numerous events to commemorate our festivities back home, share our wonderful cuisine from the most authentic providers in London, and enjoy our music with reggaeton and karaoke nights featuring Luismi and Rauw Alejandro.
As president, I will ensure that those of us who have taken the same journey across the Atlantic will feel right back at home, and those from abroad can learn more about and find a new home in our beautiful and welcoming community.
