Hi I’m Chris, your Social Media Manager!
This society was founded for 2 main purposes: 1) to provide a space for like-minded people to come together and have fun, and 2) to give MPBE students the opportunity to meet industry experts and help you get your dream internship! It is my intention to not only maintain these pillars at the core of our society, but to strengthen them further. To do this I will focus on increasing the frequency and magnitude of both social and academic events, making them bigger and better than ever! We could organise fortnightly pub socials for the MPBE community, and why not organise a boat part for us too?!
As your Social Media Manager, I already have experience being on the MPBE committee, as well as knowledge of the infrastructure and runnings of the society. Complementarily to this, my experiences as Student Rep Committee Co-Chair last year and Boys Rowing Captain for two years prior mean I am well-versed in the responsibilities of a leadership position. In these roles, I hosted events of up to 500 people, created support programs, and oversaw the retail of merchandise. Through it all, I learnt how to overcome various challenges via communication, trust, and hard work. These have taught me valuable leadership skills, including how to unify and motivate a team. In short, these experiences have made me a dependable and effective leader!
