Malaysian Society: Secretary

Before even leaving Malaysia, I was contacted by UCL’s Malaysian Society. Well-equipped with support, It was like I brought a piece of home with me to the battle of homesickness and independence. Well, pieces of home, if you count my instant pan mee… and the rice cooker.  I wish to do the same for the existing members and those to come.

Apa Khabar! I'm Brandon from Sarawak. I passionately want to give back to our MSoc by joining the BODs as Secretary and Community Outreach Officer.

I am creative with much design experience. An expert in tools like IbispaintX, Canva, & PicsArt, I can make eye-catching designs for events. You may have seen my work: Mnight’s “BARUA” poster & logo, with work for merch & trailer; and contributing to the RD posters “AFF 2024” and “Flying Bagels”. I have won awards such as Swinburne’s 20th Anniv. Logo Competition Champion, and TOA’s Young Artist’s Awards.

I plan to execute a fresh look while keeping cultural familiarity, and to continue the current story series with a new one for very specific questions: eg. clothes to bring? 1st grocery trip?

I am no stranger to leadership roles, esp. secretary work. I was the secretary for my ALevel Student Council, Prefect board, & Red Crescent Society: I produce minutes, proposals & emails in no time.

Having worked with many people, I value synergy for an efficient planning process. I also bring soft skills like time management, critical thinking & adaptability, which allow me to serve UCLMsoc to my very best.
