Michael Meenan

As the education officer, I would have the chance to play a vital role in shaping the experiences of the society's members. I would like to organise engaging workshops, informative events, and provide valuable resources to enhance their learning journey. One thing I would love to do as Educational Officer is organising and promoting Irish language classes. This could be a great way to add to the Irish and Northern Irish society. By promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment, I could be helping members expand their knowledge and skills. I would love to have the opportunity to collaborate with other like-minded individuals who are just as passionate about the society as myself. My dedication and enthusiasm would make a real difference in the society.

Aine Adlam

Hi, I'm Áine and I'm currently a first year ESPS student. I am running for the position of Education Officer for Irish and Northern Irish society as I have enjoyed being part of this society in my first year at UCL and I would like to be able to contribute to its incredible work over the next year. As my mum is from Co. Tyrone and being an Irish dancer myself, I definitely feel a connection to the Irish and Northern Irish community that would make me an excellent member of the society's committee :)

As your Education Officer, my main aim would be to continue the Irish dancing lessons that have been led by Emma for the past year. I've really enjoyed attending the regular lessons this year and it has been a pleasure to see so many new people being introduced to the beauties of traditional Irish ceili dancing. Having led one or two lessons myself this year, I believe I am capable of continuing the education of this important element of traditional Irish culture.

Through my experience of the Irish and Northern Irish society so far I know that there is an incredible Irish/Northern Irish community at UCL, and it would be an honour to represent the society as your Education Officer!
