Hi everyone, I'm Emma, a second Year History and Politics of the Americas student and I am running for Treasurer of the society! I would love to be Treasurer because I have greatly enjoyed the course over my past couple years at UCL and a big reason for that is my friends and professors. As Treasurer, I would use funds to help plan and organise social events to create a more close-knit network of students, across all year groups. I would also be ready to assist the other members of the committee in whatever they needed to ensure success. Given that this society is fairly new, I am excited by the challenge and opportunity to grow it for current students, incoming ones, and even future alumni. I feel as though the society is an exciting opportunity for us to get to know one another better, as well as our professors, in a more informal setting.

I am a highly organised, diligent, and hardworking individual and I recognise the importance of knowing peers on our course. I was fortunate to have a great transition mentor and group which made my initial experience at UCL much easier and I would love to help other students have a similarly seamless and enjoyable time! I have a lot of ideas on how to use funds to do so, including pub quizzes and field trips around London. I believe that this society has a lot to offer, from networking to exchanging study/ career advice to making friends, and I would love to take on the challenge of growing and bettering the society as Treasurer.
