I believe that as Management Lead of UCL HeMP, I will be able to expand the range of events organised by the society, bring in more well-known speakers and provide HeMP members with exciting opportunities for career development.

As the current Social Media Officer for HeMP, I have a good understanding of how activities within the society are organised. I was involved in coordinating our inaugural Career Launchpad Conference, as well as promoting events such as Parliamentary Visits, teaching series and speaker events on different HeMP themes, including health economics and NHS management.

My goals for UCL HeMP next year are to:

  1. Arrange regular speaker events in the Health Management field, including health consulting, medical journalism and health technology. This provides attendees with opportunities to learn more about career options outside the traditional medicine pathway and network with people who are well-established in their field of interest.
  2. Develop the UCL HeMP Conference and transform it into an annual event, bringing in more speakers from various areas of HeMP, particularly in the management and entrepreneurship sphere. I also plan on organising workshops within the conference on several subjects, including CV writing, equality and diversity in HeMP, and healthcare finance management.
  3. Set up multiple teaching series for medical students in both pre-clinical and clinical years on high-yield exam topics, including exam questions and mock AKT/CPSA events.
