Election post
As someone who's been part of a rowing community for five years and I have been privileged enough to compete at the national level at school and rowing in the M1 team for RUMS, I'm excited about the opportunity to contribute to the growth of our novice men's squad next year by in creating creative new rowing drills capable of developing an individual's technique but also helping the team as a whole to pull together.
As a certified first aider, I take seriously the responsibility of looking out for my teammates, whether it's providing emergency care during a sports night or simply being there to lend a listening ear. Creating an inclusive and supportive environment is one of my top priorities as captain.
- Goal; Providing resources to novice men regarding rowing vocabulary for extra reading to help them understand Cox’s calls more quickly, allowing for more safe outings during the beginning of the year.
- Goal; to run more tutorials on harder year-one topics, enabling rowers to be more on top of their studies therefore allowing them to have an easier time committing to training surrounding exam periods.
Balancing the demands of second-year medicine with leading the novice men's team will undoubtedly be a challenge, but I'm committed to effective time management and putting in the hard work to make it happen. I'm excited to push myself in this new role and continue fostering the sense of community that drew me to RUMSBC in the first place.
