I'm Asmita, a current first-year representative for AI Society. As rep this year, I’ve enjoyed participating in our initiatives and working with different teams in the society, gaining valuable insights that prepare me well for this role. From Foundry to Nexus Labs, as Vice President I want to continue these successful initiatives, and incorporate feedback to improve them. Inspired by the positive response to recent events, such as the careers panel and Bloomberg workshop, I'm committed to expanding career-focused opportunities. Through more partnerships, I hope to offer members hands-on experiences, such as company-hosted workshops and visits, and invite academia and industry experts to lead these sessions. Recognising the diversity within our society, I want to host more interdisciplinary events and enhance the engagement of our society by empowering members to contribute through writing blog posts and content.

Having held diverse leadership roles and experience managing 50+ students in the past, I'm confident I can lead a vibrant community within the committee and society. I also hold excellent communication skills, developed over years of debating, Model UN and European Youth Parliament. I hope to build a community that fosters innovation, learning, and collaboration in AI, where members can learn and contribute to the evolving AI landscape. I look forward to shaping new initiatives in this role and contributing meaningfully to the broader UCL AI community and beyond.
