Hey! My name is Linda Hiền, I was born and raised in Warsaw, Poland and am currently a first year Arts and Sciences student.

I’ve had an incredible experience at university so far, thanks in part to attending events put on by this year’s Vietsoc committee. I would like to get more involved with this society so that other members, and especially future freshers can enjoy all the positive aspects this society holds and make their uni experience memorable.

This role requires passion for change, engagement, flexibility and leadership - qualities I aim to develop every day and would continue if trusted with this position.

My vision is to work with other committee members to plan events ranging from member gatherings to intercollegiate parties.

My plans :

  • Social events such as karaoke, bowling nights, pottery painting
  • Inter-uni events such as Halloween parties, Christmas dinners
  • Partnerships with Asian grocery stores
  • Helping future freshers settle in
  • Increase funding by seeking out new sponsorship opportunities in order to organise larger-scale events

I will continue the efforts of creating a friendly environment for all students. I would like to build an inclusive society where everyone is welcome to join and to discover the beauty of our culture. I hope that we will not only be able to strengthen our internal relationships, but also build new ones through collaboration with other Vietsocs across London.

I look forward to working with you all next year!
