Yi Xi Kang

Hi everyone! I'm Yi Xi and I'm running for a second term as president of Urban Farmers Soc! I absolutely love plants and farming, especially the feeling of eating something fresh right from the plant! It also never fails to amaze me when I learn of some 'weeds' which are actually edible/useful for other reasons! Learning never stops as a gardener and that is what drives me to come to the farm every week! One year is a very short time to make changes to a society so I would like to continue improving the society and cultivating an inclusive and passionate community of student gardeners!

Some things I would like to do this year:

- Have more perennials on the farm for long-term yield

- Create more educational material (e.g. labels, basic growing guides)

- Have more plant workshops (houseplants, composting, microgreens, foraging)

- More socials (trips to forests/kew, BBQs)
