Yaroslava Myroshnychenko

Hi, everyone! My name is Yasia. I am from Kyiv, and I moved to London last year under the UK’s scheme for Ukrainians who were fleeing the war. I am currently studying Chemistry with Management at UCL. I would like to become the Social Secretary to organize events where you would have an opportunity:

  1. To learn more about our culture, history & language
  2. To understand how Ukrainian businesses are now becoming famous worldwide
  3. To talk to and to get inspired by Ukrainian authors, activists, businessmen and politicians
  4. To have fun and to check out the best Ukrainian places in London
  5. And most importantly, to follow Ukraine on its path to a bright future

Since the start of the war, I have been closely working with the Embassy of Ukraine in Australia and New Zealand. My main tasks have been to build a strong social media presence and to generate ideas for the talks and events that could be organized. I have also been doing media analytics on bilateral relations for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This experience has helped me to develop my skills in social media management, content creation, and cross-cultural communication. It also has given me a unique insight into the workings of a government agency and the importance of effective communication in promoting a country’s interests to a global audience. Something I am keen on doing at UCL’s Ukrainian Society as well and that is why I am applying for the Social Secretary position.

Heroiam Slava!

Myroslava Kovalchuk

Hi everyone, my name is Myroslava and I am running to be your Social Secretary. Unsurprisingly, I am Ukrainian and having lived in Hostomel the majority of my life, this year has been a very bumpy ride. My friends are what got me through this tough time away from my family. This is why I believe that time spent with likeminded people is crucial to maintain high morale and allow you to let go and enjoy the moment to its fullest. I know how to throw an event, having organised many successful socials at my school that 14 year olds had to enjoy, who we all know are the toughest critics. Being a Student Rep for my course, I know how important members’ opinions are and I will make sure that events are chosen in a very democratic manner.

I hope that besides helping Ukraine by promoting our culture and fundraising for our people, this society can also be a place to form friendships and enjoy the present.

It pains me to say the next few words due to their immense ‘cheesiness’, however, no matter how strong we are individually it is our friends that help us get through the toughest of times, both on a personal and global scale. Slava Ukraïni!

Anna Golovko

I'm interested in supporting, uniting and expanding Ukrainian community. I believe that together we can make a difference in such a tough time.
