Singapore Society: Events Director

As someone who greatly benefited from the community and support SingSoc has provided, through events like Freshers' Orientation and CNY Dinner, I’m grateful for the amazing experiences and would like to use this opportunity to give back to the society. Much like how SingSoc has been a home away from home for me, I want to play a part in cultivating this sense of togetherness and belonging amongst fellow members of the society through a diversity of events that cater to a variety of interests. Besides the execution of flagship events, I envision the rolling out of smaller-scale events for individuals to bond over similar interests, with activities such as art-jamming workshops, karaoke or movie nights. I hope to create a fun and chill environment for people to meet and interact with one another, forming friendships that we can all count on. I would like to push out more events in collaboration with other UK universities’ SingSocs, creating opportunities to connect and socialise with people outside of UCL. At the same time, also collaborate with other Asian societies to make new friends through the exchanging of cultures. I am approachable, people-oriented and will always be open to feedback and communication between members to cultivate a warmer and more wholesome environment for all. If given the valuable opportunity to be your Events Director, I promise to do my best to plan and execute activities that benefit all members and strengthen our bonds with one another.
