Cara K Bland
Having been a member of UCL sailing for the past two years, I feel that I would be a great addition to the committee as Vice Commodore next year.
As Vice Commodore, one of my main aims would be to promote awareness of the UCL sailing club to the wider UCL community during our second year as a UCL affiliated club. This would involve increasing our presence at UCL sports nights and improving advertisement on social media etc to bring more beginners and experienced sailors into the club - getting more people involved in such a fun and sociable sport.
Furthermore, I aim to increase both the number of BUCS events that we enter, as well as the number of teams that we take to them, allowing more sailors to experience competitive team racing and develop their sailing ability.
Crucially, I am keen to increase entry numbers to our own event - The Six Pack, both to improve the standard of racing (and socials!) and to raise money to further develop our club and boat standards.
