Poker Society: Welfare Officer

I'm running for welfare officer of Poker Society (23/24) as since I joined the weekly poker games in the first term, I've felt welcomed by every member of the society despite being a total newcomer to poker. The kindness and guidance I received from various members of the society led to (I'd hope) significant improvement; and ever since that first week, I've always looked forward to coming back to the weekly sessions. 

In my mind, the role of the welfare officer is to ensure the wellbeing of all members of said society - potentially as important as any other role. I'd like to take this opportunity to give back to all the current and future members of the Poker Society through taking on this responsibility. I hope to guarantee that every member of the society feels as welcome as I did when I first joined, and am looking forward to seeing many happy faces at poker every Friday evening.
