Malaysian Society: MNight Director

Art has been my realm since I was a little kid. Being directly involved in creative writing and fashion, I have a few experiences working with professionals from Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and local radio channels. As such, I see myself as a fit candidate for MNight Director and aim to continue growing my artistic vision to a larger scale.

To suffice the cast with confidence, I plan to invite drama experts to give online courses to the cast members. I would also like to have the experts proofread next year’s script to ensure the play effectively portrays Malaysian culture.

To increase audience numbers and income, I will offer a price for UCL MSoc members who bring the most non-UCL students or staff to the show.

Inspired by this year’s Core Production Team, I am excited to continue the tradition of having a short, sweet session after every rehearsal for all members to chat and talk, thus maintaining their emotional and physical stability. Besides, I promise to create a welcoming environment and ensure inclusivity in the storyline, characters as well as cast members for MNight 2024 production.

Ultimately, I perceive MNight 2024 as a form of artistic expression that beautifully showcases Malaysian culture. Despite the aim of good quality, I still want all participants to have fun and enjoy the experience, while also maturing and growing from it.
