Hi everyone, my name is Emma and I am running for Tech-Reg and Cybersecurity Officer. As an Economics student, my initial interest stemmed from seeing the intersection of legal technology regulation and economics when reading about the US Department of Justice suing Google for ‘monopolistic control’ over the digital advertising market. As officer I would love to add the following things to our society:

Weekly articles: start a Legal Tech website where we can produce weekly articles about current events or research in specific areas in tech-reg and cybersecurity where members of the society will get the chance to write and publish their own work. I aim to publish at least one article a week in either current events or a member’s topic of choice. Roles as editors for these articles as well as editors of the website can be appointed.

Guest speakers: invite guest speakers who work in the Legal Tech field to hold talks and Q&As about their work, how they got into their line of specialisation and other interesting aspects of their work. Members will get the chance to suggest speakers and vote on their speaker of choice via Google forms.

Monthly socials: monthly socials where society members can get to know each other and discuss their interests over a glass of wine or a picnic, or any other social ideas suggested. I think this social aspect of the society is very important and will allow us to share our ideas for expanding Legal Tech and develop a stronger sense of community.
