I started to practice kendo during this academic year. I had no idea about kendo when I first participated in the taster session. Fortunately, the committee and senior members provide a lot of help for us, including running the beginner sessions, answering questions, and so on. Due to their effort, I started to have a deeper understanding of kendo and fit into the society. This experience makes me realise the importance of committees in our society. I really appreciate what they did and have a desire to contribute to our Kendo Society. Therefore, I am standing to nominate the junior captain position.

In my opinion, the role of junior captain is indispensable. It is not only responsible for managing the beginner sessions but also plays an important role in answering questions, solving problems, and acting as a bridge between members and the committee in order to provide them with an enjoyable practice experience. Patience, responsibility, coordination, and communication skills are the essential abilities needed for this position. I am experienced in managing activities and communicating with others. I used to be the captain of the school orchestra during high school. My coordination skills were improved by helping teacher to manage the practices. As a recent class representative of the language module of CLIE, I have become experienced in communicating with other classmates and collecting feedback. I believe my experiences and skills could help me be competent in this job.
