Jitsu Club: Welfare Officer

I love Jitsu club and I would love to do my part in it. Jitsu club helped me met a lot of new people and friends and I really appreciative what jitsu club have offered. I want this club continue to be a long-standing club and to make sure each member of the club feels involved in activities. 

Hi everyone! 

I'd like to become our welfare officer to work on diversity and inclusion in our club.

We're already pretty cool in that area, but there is room for improvement; there is an information barrier for possible adjustments and accomodations for different reasons such as disabilities, religious beliefs, and gender identity.

I want to work out ways we can make Jitsu more accessible for people of marginalised groups and make these ways transparent, both to the members already in the club and to people trying to figure out whether our community would be for them.

Making blue Gis (helpful for people who menstruate) a more obvious option, especially when just starting out, is on my list.

And last, but not least: By being a candidate for this position I am also putting myself forward as someone to talk to and help if you have any issue impacting your wellbeing in the club.
