Being a part of the UCL IndoSoc team would be a huge honour for me as I would like to be involved in an organisation that creates a “home away from home” for everyone. As a member, I had the most fun organising events and socializing with fellow Indonesians. I am hoping that as vice president, I will be introduced to a new team I can call “family”, one where we can pour all of our creative energy to provide service to the society.

I am assertive, empathic, and respectful toward others. I believe that as a leader, one has to make sure that all members are heard, respected, and included. This may not be an easy task, especially in an organisation where there are several divisions. However, my social experiences have taught me to adapt to new people and collaborate with other co-workers, hence why I am running for vice president.

My experience volunteering for Habitat for Humanity Indonesia and starting a fundraising event called “Gaming vs Covid,” where I was elected vice leader, taught me what it takes to lead. We managed to raise $3,000 from over 300 players participating in several tournaments.

With the responsibility and passion I hold, I am able to step out of my comfort zone and bring unique ideas to life with others. I can’t wait to work with other members of the society to create an enjoyable year ahead!

As an Indonesian student studying at UCL, I understand the challenges and opportunities in a foreign country. I believe that our society can play a crucial role in connecting us with each other, promoting our culture and heritage, and supporting our academic and personal goals.

If elected as Vice President, I would focus on the following priorities:

  • Building a stronger sense of community within our society through regular events, social gatherings, and collaborations with other societies.
  • Increasing the visibility and impact of our society on campus and beyond by organising cultural festivals, workshops, and talks that showcase Indonesian traditions, art, and innovations.
  • Encouraging more diverse and inclusive participation in our society by reaching out to Indonesian students from different backgrounds, regions, and disciplines and creating a welcoming environment for all.

I believe that by working together, we can make the Indonesian Society at UCL a vibrant and enriching community that reflects the diversity, creativity, and excellence of our nation. I hope to have your support and trust in this exciting journey!
