Aakash K Patel

Hi everyone, it’s Aakash, some of you may recognise me from the Tiktoks leading up to Jashn. I’m a first-year Maths with Econ student and am running to be your Vice President at the the ‘UK’s largest cultural society’.

As your VP, my aims would be to:

-Acquire more sponsorships to raise more money to fund our headline events, Jashn and Dhamaal. Next year, I’ll ensure we put on even bigger and better showcases for our members (i.e. the open bar at Jashn won’t get shutdown)

-Collaborate with other societies within as well as outside UCL to provide members with new exciting opportunities to socialise, such as ‘UCL Indian Society goes on Tour’. This will help create the sense of community within the society as well as provide members with the chance to explore other universities and make new friends.

As a First Year Rep, I’ve gained an insight into the logistics of organising events for the society, big or small. As a cricket coach, I believe my organisational and communication skills will allow me to effectively help the Social Secretaries pull off many more incredible events. Throughout my experience as a FYR, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working in a team with the committee and have created so many fond memories. I would love to continue the growth of our society next year as your Vice President. So come on, vote for Aakash! If you want live socials, even crazier headline events and a working open bar at Jashn, there’s only one person to turn to…

Yours truly,

Aakash
