Indian Society: Sports Director

Hi everyone, I’m Kian and I’m a first year Politics and International Relations student. Being a part of the Indian Society has been a highlight of my first year. I’ve met some incredible people and made some of the best memories and would love to play a greater role in the society next year, by being part of the committee.

I’m standing to be your Sports Director because sport plays a great part of my life. Having been an avid sportsman at school, I have been able to compete at a high level in hockey and cricket, both at district level. I know that I’ve got the ability and attitude to take the sports division within the Indian society to the next level. 

My plan is to get regular fixtures going between our Indian society and the other Indian societies in London. This could be in cricket, football, tennis, basketball and many more.  Integrating stronger relations with the sport clubs at uni is something I will achieve, with the aim of having access to the facilities for training and matches. I would like these events to have a charitable purpose as well, so I want to organise big inter-uni tournaments, where we have the potential to raise a lot of money for charity.

I’m looking forward to being part of the team next year and hope it’s best year of our society so far!
