The 2's are up! The next season will be difficult for the 2's, however as the bar rises so do we. Under my leadership and dedication, I believe we have what it takes to keep the 2's up and play some great hockey. With more organised and targeted training sessions and integrating players between teams, I aim for each person within the club to become better hockey players. But hockey is not all about the 70 minutes on the pitch, it's also about the socials after. I would plan to keep club traditions alive whilst also injecting some new ones which hopefully may become traditions in the years to come.

Yuta Sato

Having enjoyed being part of a committee shaping and steering the club in the right direction this year, I hope to do the same next year with a new challenge of taking up the role of 2s captain. Since joining UC and the 2s, I have been part of team which went through the lows of fighting the relegation battle to the highs of promotion. In this time, I have become familiar with our many strengths and weakness both mentally and tactically as a team. I am keen on taking a lead on working on this next year during training sessions (which I have been very committed to this year and last year) to ensure we not only survive but thrive in div 2. My role as marketing sec this year has helped further develop my organisation and communication skills which will be handy in training and organising things like team fitness sessions. Also, next year is my intercalation year in which I will be able to devote more time to hockey than previously so I will be more involved with socials, as well as generally looking after the 2s boys and making sure they enjoy themselves just like I have the past 2 years. Provided I am picked for this position, I can’t wait to get stuck in leading the 2nd XI team.
