Hindu Society: Executive Director

Hi! My name is Vedant Dubey, and I am a first-year Physics student from Slough and Pune. I am running for Executive Director of UCL Hindu Society 2023/24. Being a First Year Representative at the Hindu Society this year has been an amazing experience, and has meant that I have a lot of experience on the inner workings of the society, including planning functions like Rangeela and Diwali Ball, and I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of Committee. Having grown up in a trilingual Hindu household in both the UK and India, I have firsthand experience in the different aspects and traditions of our vibrant and multicultural religion.

Over the course of this year, I have immersed myself in the society’s activities and pursuits, including having been part of Rangeela Acting and Committee performances. I have also done promotional work for events on the Hindu Society social media pages, especially on TikTok and Instagram.

My vision for next year is to make sure there are more Hindu events on campus, such as talks and volunteering opportunities, along with increased collaborations and socials with other cultural societies, so that we can host even bigger events and create a sense of joint community. I cannot wait for the opportunity to be your Executive Director next year, and I know that I can help make this the best year for UCL HSoc!
