Environmental Law and Life Science Society: Events Manager

Having attended several ELLS events this year, my perspectives on environment-related legal and social issues are enriched by the level of academic and professional insights offered by UCL scholars and current practitioners. With the hope of encouraging and enabling more students to access and benefit from such insights, I would like to nominate myself for the position of Events Manager. In the coming academic year, I aim to 

1. invite speakers from civil advocacy groups to share their experience on environmental campaigns and strategic litigation;
2. invite current practitioners in the field of environmental law to share insights into a career in environment-related legal and charitable work;
3. continue collaborating with various UCL societies and student organisations to promote ELLS events to a broader audience.

As the first-year representative at UCL Student Pro Bono Committee this year, I have already familiarised myself with the procedures and potential challenges of event-organisation. Such experiences will allow me to quickly adapt to the role of Events Manager at ELLS, and I hope to collaborate with other members of the committee to offer various opportunities to UCL students next year!
