Radha Patel

Hey everyone, I’m Radha and I study History, Politics and Economics and am running to be your Welfare Officer! 

As FYR this year, I have seen how the society works and what makes it run efficiently. I want to take the skills and insight I have gained and carry that forward to support people as much as I can in the position of Welfare Officer. 

A society is shaped by its members, which is why I think it’s so important that the events and campaigns we run align with our membership’s needs. Through a quick monthly poll, I would ensure views are heard and translated into campaigns. I want initiatives to cater to people from a range of backgrounds within Economics and Finance and so everyone has full and equal access to opportunities. 

For a lot of people, EFS is about looking to their future beyond university. To support this, I want to work with the mentorship division to widen access to resources, workshops and support regardless of whether you have experience within Economics and Finance or not. 

The fundamental of a society is about meeting new people and making friendships and connections along way. I’d love to work with other members of the committee to have more social events where people can meet others in an inclusive and diverse environment.  

With your vote, as welfare officer, I’d be a friendly face that people could approach in the society and I want to ensure that the society is inclusive and welcoming, aligning with the needs of our diverse membership!
