Dodgeball Club: Women's Captain

Hello, I'm Eileen and I currently play competitively for the UCL women's dodgeball team.

Joining the competitive dodgeball in my second year of university was a life-changing experience. It not only improved my mental and physical well-being but also allowed me to make my first group of friends in university (as well as knowing how much more money you gonna spend when you have friends).

As captain, I want to encourage more people to join us and experience the benefits of being part of a competitive sport beyond university. I have experience as a golfer and in high school basketball and understand committing to a competitive environment might sometime be scary and stressful. Therefore, as a captain, I'll be an attentive listener and help our team members become familiar with dodgeball rules and techniques, prioritize team development and ensure every member feels included and supported.

Although I recognize the challenges that come with being captain, I'm eager to take them on. My past experience as a project leader has given me the skills to organize administrative matters and facilitate teamwork and communication among team members. I believe that my leadership qualities be an asset to the team and I to using my skills to help the women's team to thrive. Moreover, I aim to facilitate a positive and rewarding experience for all competitive members of the team, akin to my own memorable time with dodgeball this year. I'll do everything in my power to make that happen.
