Louis Dayen

My name is Louis, and I am a first-year Management Science student.

With my experience, skills and passion for chess, I am confident that I can be a valuable asset to UCL Chess as the treasurer. I am fully committed to the role and eager to give my contribution to the society.

I have been involved in the society since the beginning of the year. I am usually playing for the team in lower-division matches, and have been present to most of the events of the society (weekly socials, blitz tournaments, Carnaby Square,…). My participation to those events, not only, became an essential aspect of my weekly routine, but provided me the opportunity to make new friends for my first year of university.

Furthermore, my experience in various projects convinces me that I will be a good suit for this role. Last year, I have been the treasurer for a charity’s project called “Chrétiens d’Orient”, in which I managed the budget of a month trip (+ 4500£) in Armenia to help orphans. I plan to apply the skills learned with this experience to assure stability and security for the society.

I appreciate that as an incoming second-year student, I may be fortunate to be given such a significant responsibility. Nonetheless, I am confident that my background and experiences have quipped me with the right set of skills to perform in this role.
