Katherine J Marlow

Hey everyone! My name is Katherine and I’m a second year history student. I have really enjoyed writing for the Zine since joining in September and I would love to have the opportunity to be Editor next year!

Working with the Zine Editors on my articles this year has really improved my confidence in my writing and has given me insight into the demands of the role. As Zine Editor, I would love to motivate others to produce both serious and light-hearted feminist content that they can be proud of. I am optimistic that I will be able to encourage our writers to develop their own style whilst also leading fun and interactive weekly Zine meetings where everyone in the room will feel like they can contribute to discussion.

I have a few ideas that I might like to incorporate into the Zine, like an Agony Aunt style column or even a series of feminist-orientated interviews. My main focus, though, as Zine Editor would be to publish creative, unique, engaging, and wonderful issues so that all our writers can be proud to be a part of the Zine.

Anna Maria Papaoikonomou

Hey besties! A lot of you might have previously seen me running around and talking about the zine! Through my year as Zine Co-Editor, with help from the amazing Editor and members of the society,  I managed to completely revamp the publication, increase engagement and overall create a fun, safe, creative space showcasing many of the talented individuals in our university.

I love working in the Zine because above all, it is a community. A community embracing diversity, inclusivity and girlhood. Being a part of the Cheese Grater as a whole, has introduced me to some of the best people I have met, personally and professionally. I want to continue enhancing my creativity through placing my time, focus and effort in this community and publication.

I would excitedly continue working on the digitalisation of the publication. The newly curated platforms of Instagram and TikTok have managed to attract a high following while promoting important personal social issues surrounding the experience of womanhood in the online generation we live in. I want to continue emphasising collaboration through writing meetings, where members can express their ideas and inspiration, with the aim of creating content which is both satirical and deeply introspective.

It would be my dream to have the opportunity to grow in this position for another wonderful year. If you loved working with me as much as I loved working with you, then I would love to have your vote <3 .

Lots of Love,

Anna
