Faye Corey

Hi Lightning! My name is Faye and I’m running to be your president. This year has been my first year cheerleading for UCL as a flyer in Spark. I’m running for president as I have absolutely fallen in love with this sport and all of the people involved; I have made amazing friendships and had so much fun at competitions and Varsity training. Being part of this family has made my year more amazing than I could have imagined. As your president, I will strive to make the club as inclusive and welcoming as I experienced it to be when I joined.

As publicity officer for DermSoc this year, I understand the importance of great teamwork and communication skills to form a successful committee, and being in Spark this year has only strengthened these skills. My success in balancing this role alongside medicine, my job and being in a competitive team gives me strong time management and interpersonal skills required to fill the demanding role of president.

Immersing myself in all of the club’s activities this year and attending most socials has given me a deeper understanding of what Lightning represents. I want to see the club grow stronger by implementing injury prevention workshops to keep everybody safe while having fun, as well as more frequent team socials (because can we ever have enough team bonding??) and will work hand in hand with the treasurer to optimise our budget.

I would be honoured to represent our incredible club, and can’t wait for the year ahead!
