Madeline Rose

I’m Maddie, I’m a 4th year and have been an active member of RUMSBC since Fresher’s Week. In this time, I've been a novice rower, senior rower and on committee for the last two years as Social Sec & Treasurer.

All these roles have allowed me to develop a deep understanding of RUMSBC, especially what goes on behind the scenes. As treasurer, I've worked closely with the President, small council and Union, giving me invaluable experience of how RUMSBC works, how the SU works and ultimately what it takes to run this club.

My goals for the club as President:

  • Rowing - win more UH medals! Encourage crew ergs and a plan for cancelled outings so weather doesn’t affect training
  • Welfare & Inclusivity - continue to work on our new incident reporting form. Liaise with SU & other UCL divisions for better committee/club-wide training on important issues regarding mental health, personal safety, sexual harassment, and reporting to make RUMSBC a safer community
  • Socials - mapping out the years' socials in September, particularly socials that do not revolve around alcohol. This will ensure they take place regularly and RUMSBC offers an array of socials for our members
  • The RUMSBC community - fortnightly club emails, drop-in-sessions, better alumni network/involvement

I love this club and everything about it. As President I’ll always put it first and not only keep our great traditions, but push the club further. We can always do more to make every member feel welcome and
