Boat Club (RUMS): Assistant Boatswain

My past year in boat club has helped me realise the importance of two things: the club community and having well-maintained equipment. The latter of these in particular was acutely highlighted to me in my novice UH Head experience. I also saw how tangible a difference having more launches available in this last term made to the progress of the NM's crews. I hope that the position will not only allow me to keep our equipment well-maintained, facilitating successful trainings and race days, but that I can also strengthen my connections with members of the club as a reliable and committed (assistant) boatswain. Fundamentally rowers are dependent on the seamless function of all elements of the boat for success and I want to be part of the behind-the-scenes work which will enable us to translate all of our hard work into medals in this coming year.
