Farhan Hussain

Hey everyone! I’m Farhan, and I’m running to be your President with the aim of making 23/24 the best year of Barbell to date.

In the past two years, Barbell has provided me with invaluable guidance, an incredible platform to chase my competitive aspirations and, above all, a sense of belonging to an amazing community of fantastic people. As President, I will work to put on more socials and inter-university events so that all members of the club have an opportunity to get involved.

As a coach and competitive powerlifter, I understand the needs of the individuals interested in competing in the sports we offer. It will always be a priority of mine to ensure that these athletes have the equipment, preparation and funding to excel in their competitive endeavours. I will:

  • Hold more competition spec training sessions than ever before

  • Improve the availability and quality of equipment at Bloomsbury Fitness

  • Improve incentives and training for coaches to improve the standard of our services

With your vote, I hope to become your President and to have the opportunity to shape the future of the club to enhance both the sporting and social lives of its members. However, my top priority will always be to ensure that all members are able to enjoy everything the club has to offer, regardless of gender, ethnicity or sexual orientation. With your vote, I hope to lead the club to a new level of growth, progress and competitive excellence.

Your vote matters,

Farhan x
