Catherine Ding

Dear Members of UCLUNA,

My name is Catherine and I am an undergraduate student from Luxembourg majoring in Economics and Business with East European Studies.

From 2018 on, I was part of my school’s debating club and have attended various MUNs on a national and international level since, such as BIMUN Barcelona, MUNOG Stuttgart, LUXMUN Luxembourg and recently LIMUN London. These unique conferences have not only helped me obtain a sense of critical thinking, and open-mindedness, but also taught me how to perform well under pressure and collaborate with other delegates.

As MUN director, I will have the responsibility to ensure the coordination of the training sessions, the preparation for MUNs and the planning of the simulations at UCLUNA. Being this year’s training officer at UCLUNA, I have gained valuable teaching experience. Hence, I strive to closely work with the next training officer to guarantee not only interactive and educational but also enjoyable weekly training sessions.

My main goal is to increase your confidence level when participating at MUNs, so that you can present yourself as the most braced delegates at these conferences. Collaborating with other members and speaking in front of hundreds of people pose a challenge, but they are also assets that I aim to pass on to you

Simran Sandhu

Hello, My name is Simran studying BSc Economics and I am running to be your MUN Director. What makes an organisation prosper is committee members who are willing to go above and beyond, and that is exactly what I will bring to the UCL United Nations Association.

I offer 2 things to the table;

  1.  Commitment
  2.  Ambition

After attending countless training sessions and participating in London’s largest MUN Conference, I see so much potential in helping to grow this society.

As your MUN director I will;

  •  Organise more conferences for members to attend and gain experience
  •  Hold training boot camps leading up to major conferences
  •  Help find ways to secure funding to subsidise delegate/transportation fees
  •  Work to organise to go to at least one international conference
  •  Organise more beginner-friendly training sessions on how to research, write draft resolutions and position papers to bridge the gap into MUN

My varied experience in;

  •  Writing a successful proposal in securing the ASEAN 3M Grant
  •  Chairing as secretary for the KPMG Malaysia Ambassadorship Programme and Representative Director Programme in UCL Malaysian Society
  •  Marketing Asia’s longest-running eco film festival

Has equipped me with the skill sets needed to help me excel as your MUN Director.
