Uyen Nguyen

Hey everyone, my name is Uyen, I’m a first year Information Management for Business student and I am running for the role of the Marketing Director for TechSoc. I have been serving TechSoc as a Marketing Executive and wish to use the skills and experience I have to further contribute to the growth of our society.

Over the past year, I have worked closely with other members of the Marketing team to manage TechSoc’s various social media platforms and create contents, which successfully advertised and boosted the engagement for the multiple events and workshops that were held. Fulfilling these responsibilities has not only enhanced my organisation, design and communication skill but has also given me valuable insight into the workings of the society as well as what is expected from a committee member.

It is incredibly important to me that TechSoc maintains a good image and reputation to both current and potential members as well as sponsors. Therefore, if elected, my main priority will be to ensure all social media accounts are updated regularly, every message and inquiry is responded timely and with accurate information. Moving forward, I would love the opportunity to continue supporting TechSoc and everyone, and I believe that the experience I have in marketing will make me a good fit for the role.

Thank you all so much,

Uyen

Steve Hong

Hi folks,

I am Steve and I am the Marketing Executive of Technology Society. I am running for the Director of Marketing position this year, determining to transform marketing strategies and promotional materials of our society. Having been with the society for a while, I have become acquainted with our operation and culture, which will be of great importance so as to maximise our presence and image to the greater student body later on.

If I am elected, I will definitely:
1) Transform the styles of our current promotional materials to a variety of themes. I would love to leverage on the network student photographers to introduce amazing pictures into our posts on social media and elsewhere.
2) Invest in composing attractive newsletters and captions to increase our members by at least 20%
3) Collaborate with all teams to help our sponsors increase their presence among students across multiple disciplines

I will highly appreciate your support, and hope you would vote me as your Director of Marketing!

Kenson F Chung

Being the charity committee prefect and the president of the Psychology society of my high school, one of its most popular societies with over 50 active members, I routinely organised weekly talks, social events and sales. All these roles have sharpened my marketing, communication and time management skills.

I am extremely proficient in combining Canva, Photoshop and Procreate to produce eye-catching, high-quality and time-efficient advertisements, having created one per week for my previous roles. This skill stems from my long-term interest in design and the arts, having started studying visual arts from the age of 5. This means that I am fit for creating all of the promotional material for the society, including posters, leaflets, presentations and more.

Additionally, to effectively advertise these events, I have developed the abilities to give clear and concise descriptions of our events in a convincing manner on social media.

Finally, I am very skilled at web design using Figma and Adobe XD, having consistently practiced and created websites/apps in the last two years. Although it may not be directly relevant to this position, this background has made me acutely aware to design details and how to adapt based on the user demographic.

Christina Zhang

I loved the past year’s wonderful experience of working as the marketing director, and I’d love to continue to serve on the committee!
