Swimming Club: Kit and Marketing Officer

Being a first-year undergrad, I am keen to involve myself in more of the UCL culture and the perfect place for this would be as marketing officer for the society I felt immediately welcomed in.

I have experience in running social media accounts – in 6th form I ran a charity Instagram account to raise funds for underprivileged children in Kenya, utilising the platform to engage with the public and to organise events such as football matches. At a coffee shop where I worked over the summer, I produced entertaining captions and images to increase customer engagement. I created content and reposted customers images. These experiences made me realise the importance of strong social media communication in today’s modern age.

I’m keen to build my graphic design skills as studying Urban Planning, Design and Management means I regularly use Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) which could be used to create content.

I relish working with others and being part of a leadership team as kit and marketing officer would be a valuable experience, helping me to fully immerse myself in the friendly culture of UCL Swimming, and I believe my optimism, reliability and determination would make me a great candidate.

Hey, I'm Izy, a cell biology student going into my third year! I trained in long-distance free 3 years ago, and joined the UCL Fitness Team this year.

I would be super excited to join the Swimming Club's committee as the Marketing and Kit Officer. I have experience running several club social media pages from high school, making social media posts and answering any questions sent in. I would be very enthusiastic and capable on the social media pages, making sure that all and any questions sent in by new and returning members are answered both in Instagram DMs and Whatsapp groups, and making sure everyone is kept in the loop about events and practices via both Instagram posts and Outlook emails.

In terms of kit, I am looking forward to wearing my new UCLSC puffer jacket :) and look forward to promoting the kit next year! Hopefully we'll be able to get the swimming costumes as well. I hope to get the kit coordination done sooner next year as well, since we're all eager to show off our swimming prowess, right? I do also have experience coordinating team kit in my IB years, which will come in handy here.

Hi I'm Audrey! The swimming social media and website pages haven't been very active lately so I'd like to remedy that. I'm currently the general secretary for the taekwondo club, so I have quite a lot of experience with writing newsletters, doing admin work, and supporting a society. As part of that role and other projects, I've had to create a few posts and posters so I'm pretty comfortable with managing social media accounts. Please vote for me! :D
