Claudia Low

Hello! I’m Claudia and I’m running to be Externals Officer!

I’m a fresher and have been involved in a couple of externals this year, having some experience using the externals kit, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time helping out in lighting and sound. I really hope to dedicate much more of my time and effort into contributing to Stage Crew the coming year, and wish to do this through connecting the society to external opportunities, encouraging society members to help out and learn through these externals. I aim to build strong relationships with other societies, having clear and effective communication with them. I also aim to work on the efficient processing of external requests and recruitment of crew.

Having taken up various leadership positions throughout my past years of schooling (head prefect, student councillor, society exco member, faculty committee member, community youth network assistant secretary), I have experience in communicating with multiple groups of people and external organisations in event planning for my school and community. I thus hope to tap on these skills to contribute to Stage Crew, and am definitely willing to learn whatever is required for me to fulfil this role well. Thank you for taking the time to read this!

Aaditya Subramanian

I'm Aaditya and I'm running to be your Externals Officer for next year. I have experience working on many shows - both Bloomsbury and external - this year and believe I will be able to make externals work better in all respects, from the crew call to the show nights. If elected, I will implement a formal process for approving external requests from societies and for crew calls, so that crews will have ample time to prepare for the productions, so crews won't be short-staffed, and so there will not be situations where there are last-minute crew calls, as has happened this year in the absence of a formal process. I have a good knowledge of the externals kit and production and venue requirements, so I will be able to support crews in any way they need for their productions. I will make sure all members of the society have an equal opportunity to take part in externals and gain experience in various settings and roles in the crew. I will also be in regular contact with all external crews to make sure that any questions or issues are quickly resolved and help any members, especially new and less-experienced ones, with learning how to do the various necessary tasks in externals. And above all else, I want to make sure that externals are fun and rewarding for all stage crew members!

Angie Loo Jor Tsz

Hi crew! I’m Angie (they/them) and you might know me as Production Manager for My Land’s Shore. I’ve also been involved in RENT, Rhapsody, Power and other small shows!

Since day 1, I’ve been involved in Stage Crew’s external shows. Working on Freshers’ Musical with Musical Theatre Society was a lovely experience which introduced me to the world of tech. Since then, I’ve also worked with Drama Society on externals, and with Live Music and Dance in Bloomsbury Theatre shows. Stage Crew is most affiliated with Musical Theatre, and I am also a member of MT. I’m well prepared to take on the role in terms of experience, and I am looking forward to being Stage Crew’s point of contact with other societies as well.

As Externals Officer, I’ll be working closely with other societies to provide support for their external shows. Externals are a great way for new members to get hands-on experience and gain the confidence they need to work on bigger shows in the theatre. I will advertise these opportunities in advance, so more members can have the chance to hop on! I also hope to strengthen our collaborative relationship with other societies, and really show them what we can do.

I hope you believe in my capabilities to take on the role, and I look forward to your continued support in creating amazing shows!
