Sci-Fi and Fantasy Society: Events Officer

Hi, I'm Amelia and I would love to be your next Events Officer! The events SFFS holds are what brought me out of my shell and helped me to really feel at home at uni, so I would especially love to have a hand in future society events (and as a GM and former youth worker, have plenty of experience in entertaining my fellow nerds). As well as running film nights and murder mysteries, I already have a bunch of ideas for future events if I am elected. These include, but are by no means limited to: a ‘Time Traveller’s Ball’, a Cyberpunk-themed UV party, and a longsword workshop. I would also like to work with the future Welfare Officer to host alcohol-free socials, and daytime events for those with jobs, kids, or other caring responsibilities. I will make sure that these events are held in wheelchair accessible locations so they can be enjoyed by all students. 

I have absolutely loved being a part of SFFS and have made so many amazing friends since joining, and would love to give back to the society!
