Teresa Macey-Dare

Feeling welcomed and encouraged from the start, RAX allowed me to find my feet (pun intended) back on the x-country scene this year. To say that this has been a highlight of my time at uni would be an understatement. Motivated by my love of running and desire to give back to such a great club, I have decided to run for x-country captain. With a variety of leadership experience under my belt (for example Head Girl) alongside being in teams throughout my life (basketball, dance, and x-country to name a few) I feel equipped to take on the role. Whilst I have only been a part of RAX for a year, I have demonstrated both my commitment and running abilities in the LUCA and BUCS races. Meanwhile, I have reflected the friendly and encouraging ethos of the club through my attendance at social runs and sportsnights and, most of all, my over-promotion of RAX (especially the track sessions!). Were I elected, my main aim would be getting even more people to come along to races, s&c, sessions and social runs. I’d also hope to work with the trips sec to organise a UK/International trip for some mixed terrain and weather training - and of course a well-earned break! As social sec for basketball this year, I have developed the organisational skills necessary to make this a possibility, and required for the role at large. Of course, I'd also be open to other suggestions about training, races, kits etc. But rest assured, I've got my eye on some UCL wind-breakers for BUCS 2023...
