Alice L Maguire

I would be honoured to be elected as your RUMS Clinical Education VP 22/23, to ensure a better experience in clinical years for everyone.

During my time at UCLMS so far, I have held positions including MedSoc Oncology Lead, Events Lead for BONUS OncSoc, RCR Summer UG Research Fellow, co-chaired to national student conferences, and have served as a Module Academic Representative in MBBSY2 and Academic Representative Module A/B Lead for MBBSY4. My suggested improvements for GDC in MBBSY2 led to a full satisfaction rate the following year. My work this year includes both setting up site-specific contacts for students to report teaching no-shows, publicising the SEQs far and wide and cooperating with the 21/22 Y4-6 VP George, to assemble module-/site-specific group chats for students to input feedback.

My pledges -

  1. More dependably punctual distribution of personalised placement timetables.
  2. Continue work to standardise teaching at each site.
  3. Liaise with UCLMS to form discount codes for popular revision resources like KenHub.
  4. Encourage more in-person teaching.
  5. Centralise feedback aggregation.
  6. Hold UCLMS accountable.
  7. Advocate for you, the student body, to implement your suggested improvements so that we can all strive to make UCLMS a better place.

My full manifesto includes my endorsements and details on how I plan to meet my pledges. All are welcome to message or email me with any questions, thank you.
