Emma Z Keston

I've really enjoyed being a part of the rugby team during my first year. This year's committee members made me feel so welcome and I'd love to do the same for next year's club members, both old and new.

I would be a great candidate for welfare secretary. My previous experience as a mental health ambassador for my school means I am experienced at providing excellent support for my peers. I will check up on the team's physical and mental well-being and be a point of contact for our members to voice any of their concerns or worries. I'd love to continue the promotion of yoga and mindfulness and would love to collaborate with the UCL yoga and meditation society. Off the pitch, I'll be there if you need to have a rant about uni and promise to always check up on you after a wild night at scala.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and please vote for me for Welfare Sec :) !

Emmie R Bowlt

Hiya, my name is Emmie, I’m going into my third year of rugby at UCL and third year of my Biology degree.

I’ve been at the club for almost two years, and aside from the incredible memories and friendships that I have made, I have gone through many stages of uni life as part of the team- I was once a fresher too! With this experience, I hope I could make a bigger impact as welfare officer: as an approachable person, always ready for a chat or a phone call, and as someone who might have stood in your shoes…boots!

I aim to be someone who can help welcome new members to the team, create a safe and inclusive atmosphere, and be someone that anyone can talk to or seek for support. After the disjointed academic years we have had, we all understand the importance of friendships and looking after our mental health- sometimes you just need to tackle someone. Consequently, I hope that I can host activities (even using the welfare fund!) which can strengthen bonds in the team and create opportunities for us to improve our wellbeing.

I understand that our emotions and priorities fluctuate throughout the year, so most importantly I just want to be someone who can help make your time in the team as enjoyable as possible whether you’re a novice, a PhD student with a large workload, or getting back into the game after an injury.

Thank you for your consideration and happy tackling!
