Tilly A Van Der Byl

I love this club and I want to be able to support members through the harder times in the club, whilst always being a voice of encouragement and reason for everyone. I will always be there to hype you all up and never bring anyone down. I want to be a source of motivation and ensure everyone feels welcome to the club, returning or new. I want to continue the community we have currently and ensure that continues. I will always be around for extra support for you all on and off the pitch. This will not be the end of my SCALA days, I will be as committed to you all as I am to SCALA.

Felicity Canning

Hi everyone! I’m Felicity, although you know me better as Flic and I am applying to be the Vice Captain of the Rugby club. Rugby has been a major part of my life for several years, from club, to county and now university level, and there is nothing better than a Wednesday afternoon out on the pitches surrounded by loving, powerful and determined people.

I believe that I can be a strong Vice Captain for this club as I am a well organised person and have played for many years in a variety of positions. Throughout this season I have stepped up when required, both on and off the pitch, and I am able to support players where needed, new and experienced alike. I strongly believe that, were I to get this role and be able to stand alongside the Captain, this coming season will be one to remember for the team. This team is such a fiercely determined yet welcoming group and it would be a pleasure to be involved in keeping it that way.

Emmie R Bowlt

Hi I’m Emmie, and I will be going into my third year of my Biological Sciences degree and my third year of rugby!

I would love to be vice captain because I think I can bring lots of energy and motivation to the team to create a fun, competitive and inclusive atmosphere. Women’s rugby is such an exciting and empowering sport and I really want to help our team embody this. There are very big shoes to fill in terms of being a hype woman for the team but I will try and do my best- on and off the pitch- to support the team. I’m really keen to be someone that people feel they can turn to for advice, rugby-wise or not, and I hope that my time in the team and at uni will have given me the experience to help me support my captain and help my teammates develop.

I’m a pretty organised and enthusiastic person, and I hope these attributes could help me be someone who could play a part in being useful to the team and captain in this amazing sport (and team).
